3rd Saturday Bancroft Propagation Event: Grafting Basics, Berries and Seeds

  • 18 Feb 2023
  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • 3845 Spring Dr, Spring Valley, CA 91977

Mark Miner will be discussing propagating berries! Patrick Schilling will also be facilitating basic grafting practice. Craig Madden will be teaching us about seed starting. People will practice grafting on different cut branches. These branches are not intended for rooting or potting up. This is mainly for people who have not had much experience grafting. If anyone wants to bring rootstock and scions Patrick will help them graft, but no rootstock or scions will be provided other than the practice branches (which could be carrotwood or any other type of tree). The club has limited numbers of pruning shears, cutting tools and grafting tape so if you are able please bring some of your own!

Come by around 9-ish to socialize and get to know the other club members.

We will start the propagation session around 10am. The schedule is below.

Please bring any extra fruit, seeds or budwood to share with other CRFG members.

See everyone on Saturday.

9:00-10:00am Social Hour for anyone who wants to hang out and chat.

10:00am-12:00pm Learning Portion
